concrete foundation blocks with ranite, which the Surveyor

General estimates at $31,000, will be arply justified.

The

blocks proposed to be faced, form torather, two fifths of the

total height of the wall, and they constitute the most important

for these blocks (see section returned herewith) would result

in te production of a stone face throughout the entire height

of the wall, I am strongly of opinion that the work should be

oxocuted accordingly, no especially as the additional cost

would only amount to somewhat less than six per cont on

the

outlay required on the masonry of the wall itself, irrespective

of the rubble mound, backing tc,.
